Lady Storm Softball History – Coach and Director, Chad Dye, began Lady Storm Softball in 2020 with two teams. The organization grew to include a 2 16U teams and one 18U team in 2022, and this year has a 16U National team, 16U Regional team and a 14U Team. Prior to starting his own club organization, Coach Dye was a part of the Midwest Speed and MN Sting organizations. Coach Dye currently coaches the 16U National team currently and has 16 years of coaching experience. Coach Dye has also done catching and hitting clinics in Ellsworth and other communities, Prior Lake winter training, to help them build stronger association level programs. Coach Dye has ties to many current college coaches and has worked with multiple players who have gone one to play college softball. Lady Strom Fastpitch is based out of Apple Valley/Rosemount area but draws players from Western Wisconsin, Faribault, Farmington, Red Wing, Rosemount, Apple Valley, Eastview, Simley, Lakeville, etc. Our teams practice as a group during the fall and spring and then break off to do individual team work. Our dome training is also combined. Hitting practices are broken up in age groups. Pitching and catching time is scheduled prior to outdoor practices for 30-45 minutes or as needed. Philosophy: Lady Storm was born out of my love for the game of softball. My daughter, Angel, played softball from age 5 and into her first year of college. I have been involved in every level of the game from community ball to college ball. My goal is to help every player reach their highest potential and be successful. I try to put players in a position where they will be challenged but not set them up to fail. My goal is to prepare these young women for the future. We hope to give players the opportunity to learn, grow, and be a part of something special. We always hope girls will find a second family within their team.
